Since 2004, we have been delivering highly effective training and changing lives through high quality programming, individualized coaching, and meeting members where their abilities lie. This creates peak fitness for Military and Law Enforcement, elite endurance for amateur and professional athletes, and 1000s of pounds of weight loss for everyday moms, dads, and working professionals just like you.

While it is true that one size does not fit all, we have been tailoring CrossFit to meet the needs of a diverse population longer than anyone else in Northern California.

CrossFit San Jose began serving the greater Bay Area in 2004 (one of the first five affiliates). We were originally aimed at training mixed martial artists (such as Cain Velasquez) and military special forces. CrossFit San Jose applied Greg Glassman’s balanced approach of high intensity workouts combined with weighted movements and high skill work.

Over the next several years, CrossFit San Jose developed a small but loyal following, packing the house with fighters, law enforcement, and military. Word soon got out, and people from everyday walks of life that knew great training when they saw it began flooding classes. CFSJ accommodated by expanding in physical size, recruiting some of the best trainers and athletes in the Bay Area and offering a host of programs to meet anyone’s needs, giving the Bay Area the best in health and fitness services.

I coach for two reasons.

First, I just love the feeling of being involved when the light goes on; when you help someone through that struggle of understanding a movement or a concept and seeing the joy that they express, finally being able to perform what they’ve just learned.

Second is the sense of accomplishment in helping someone learn how to improve their health and take responsibility for it, whether that be physical, mental, or emotional health. I love helping people succeed.

Hi! My name is Devin Lopez, and I would love to take a moment to share my story with you. I grew up having a deep history in Athletics for most of my life. I've played multiple sports growing up, and it's those sports that initially sparked my love for coaching. Being able to help people and see the immediate changes that could occur was extremely motivating for me. It put me on a career path to Personal Training/Nutrition Coaching and Group Fitness.

I've also had my own falling out with fitness and, for a point, had become very unhealthy and overweight. After breaking up with my girlfriend at the time, I finally realized how far I had fallen. I was committed to making a change. That moment became the catalyst for me. I finally stepped into the health and fitness industry to pursue my dreams and get back on a healthy track.

Fast forward to the present day, and I have dedicated 15 years and counting to the industry. I couldn't see myself doing anything other than helping people change their lives for the better.

I have always geeked out on health sciences and truly love to help others. I recently graduated in December of 2019 from San Jose State University with a BS in Public Health. During my time at SJSU, I studied a lot about health inequalities. Over time I grew passionate about helping improve health outcomes within my local community.

I started my CrossFit journey back in 2016, and it has been a life-changing experience for me since then. It has improved my physical, emotional, social, & spiritual well-being. As a coach, my goal is to help others feel comfortable exploring their bodies through both movement and improving their overall health outcomes.

Hey guys/gals, my name is Tyler! I started doing CrossFit on and off in 2006 at CrossFit unlimited (my brother Owned the business and talked me into trying it). I fell in love with it immediately for the intensity aspect, the camaraderie, and the educational aspects. Still, I was periodic with it due to high school sports (I was a junior at the time). I finally got my L-1 in 2008 and have been coaching as my main occupation ever since. What I love most about coaching is the opportunity to develop relationships with others that are mutually beneficial. There is just something about going through the fitness journey with others and being a part of their success that makes me happy.

I can honestly say I am grateful to live a lifestyle I WANT. I wake up in the morning because of what I get to do and who I get to do it with. I feel that I can always improve and sharpen my skills as a coach. I genuinely enjoy learning new things about training and enjoy even more the opportunities to apply what I’ve learned in my coaching practice.

CrossFit has also done wonders for my personal fitness, both in the realms of physical and psychological. I look forward to sharing this journey with you 🤘🏼.
